The National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership - NPQML

The NPQML is designed for teachers who are or aspire to be, a middle leader with the responsibility for leading a team within a school. The programme develops participants’ middle leadership knowledge and whilst giving them the opportunity to develop key leadership behaviours.

NPQML Structure and Teaching Methods

The NPQML programme at WLTA is an 18-month long programme of study that includes:

  • 4 full day ‘Face to Face’ seminar sessions held at Montpelier Primary School
  • Access to high-quality resources, drawing on up-to-date research and evidence
  • Online study modules created by UCL IoE
  • Opportunities for structured reflection
  • Peer to peer support and networking
  • A final assessment requiring the completion of a school improvement project lasting at least two school terms

  • NPQML Leading with Impact (Thursday 12/11/2020)
  • NPQML Leading, Learning and Teaching (Thursday 03/12/2020)
  • NPQML Leading Effective Partnerships (Thursday 14/01/2021)
  • NPQML Leading Strategically (Thursday 04/02/2021)

Cost: the total cost of the NPQML programme 2020-21 at the West London Teaching Alliance is £890.00
